Analysis of Electronic Listserv Interactions among Indiana School Counselors

    Get PDF
General Summary: School counselors have a variety of tasks to accomplish. They must respond to the mental health needs of their students, as well as the guidance activities, such as testing, scheduling, college placement, career counseling, and a myriad of other activities. At the same time, they must deal with suicide attempts, bullying, conflict management, anger issues, and many other mental health issues. There have been numerous theoretical articles regarding the role of counselors, as well as surveys asking counselors to list their activities. This study makes use of a state-wide listserv, CounselorTalk that serves virtually every counselor in the State of Indiana, as well as other interested individuals. A study incorporating six critical months in the school year has been reported. It was decided to complete a full year’s analysis, and contrast it with data from the next year. The results of the two-year study will be presented

AHP Approach for Determining Category in Social Media Content Creation in Order to Maximize Revenue per Mille (RPM)

    Get PDF
This study utilizes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the selection of an optimal niche or category of videos for maximizing view count. The main income from videos is derived from RPM, which is a set amount per thousand views. A set of criteria was determined from attributes in the dataset that logically contribute to either the videos’ SEO or trend/popularity. The criteria in question were also determined by commonalities across a vast number of video content platforms, which focus more on the essential attributes of a video. In order to perform pairwise comparison, weights were derived from coefficients generated using Linear Regression. Following the creation of the model, we identify the categories with the highest potential for gaining views. Based on the results, the study may be performed in another time frame to reflect the major shifts in public interest over time. Thus, the importance of its repeatability and degree of usability across datasets from different platforms is emphasized. Doi: 10.28991/HIJ-2022-03-01-07 Full Text: PD

Source and Channel Choices in Business-to-Government Service Interactions:A Vignette Study

    Get PDF
To deal with tax matters, businesses have various potential sources (e.g., Tax Office, advisor, industry organization, friends/family) in their environment. Those sources can be coupled with an increasingly wide variety of channels (e.g., telephone, face-to-face, website, e-mail) through which information can be obtained. This has led to an increasingly complex information flow between governments and businesses. This paper provides new directions for public service delivery strategies by studying both source and channel choices of businesses using the vignette method. The findings indicate that source and channel choices are determined in different ways (i.e., positive or negative) by different factors. Furthermore, we found that source and channel choices are interrelated. It is concluded that that sources and channels fulfil different roles for information seekers. It is advisable for government to anticipate these roles in the design of their service delivery strategies
